Urth Arts is a dream of Bryan and Susan Perrin, working artists who celebrate and promote a natural relationship between art and life. Urth Arts is intentionally a mom & pop operation: a studio culture, an artistic troupe, a simple grouping. That disclaimer aside, Urth Arts is an interactive art and learning space open on a part time basis for workshops, performance and other events.

Urth Arts is a space sacred to art; art as the creative process of being. As an arts environment we honor that artistic expression is a basic nature of living peoples and respect the creativity of nature. Here, nature is inspiration and subject; art making is the discovery of the self.

The true learning experience is a means of understanding that occurs from within. Through thoughtful interaction with nature, offering lessons in our trade, and organizing gatherings, we are creating an external situation of positive art & culture. This encourages human development which produces the internal learning response.

Furthermore, the animist and intergenerational focus of our work provides a unique opportunity to instill an awareness of the art within and all around. Urth Arts fosters an atmosphere which makes magic for a participant. The transfer of knowledge offered here is access to an active circle of paint or paper or clay or rock or parent or child or flower or frog or student or teacher.

Bryan and Susan are visual artists who moved together to the mountains from Jersey City. Bryan is a second generation American Artist: a prodigious painter, an engaging speaker, a gifted sculptor, a struggling writer and an occasional performer. He has enjoyed moving in the inner circles of the art world’s outer fringe of Toledo Ohio, Cocoa Beach Florida, Jersey City New Jersey, Woodstock New York. Exhibiting in galleries and clubs and private collections, Bryan also has had an extensive career both as an illustrator and scenic artist as well as a decorative finish painter. Check out his website www.bryanperrinstudio.com. Susan is a multi-media artist with a degree in Creative Expression from Empire State College. She studied ceramics in Japan and New York and has exhibited in both NY and NJ. Working primarily in ceramics, Susan paints and creates mixed media sculpture as well. She founded and directed the O Roe Electric Art Space, in Hoboken New Jersey described as a “unique cultural institution” by the New York Times and has taught art to children of all ages forever.

Urth Arts is a forum in the tradition of what has been passed on. Here is opportunity to learn.
